Ceramic Coating Aftercare Guide

Thank you for bringing in your vehicle, we appreciate your business!

To keep your ceramic coating looking its best and performing properly, please follow these simple care guidelines:

First 7 Days (Curing Period):

  • Do not wash or touch the exterior for at least 7 days.
  • This allows the coating to fully cure and bond to your paint.
  • If the vehicle gets dirty, you may lightly rinse it with water only—no soap or scrubbing.

Washing After 7 Days:

Touchless Car Wash:

  • Only use car washes with NO brushes touching your vehicle.
  • Avoid places like Mister Car Wash, Waterway, Cobblestone, etc., as they use harsh brushes that can damage the coating.
  • Look for “touchless” or “brushless” car washes, often found near self-serve bays.
  • Auto Wash is a great example of a safe, touchless option.

Hand Washing (30-45 minutes):

  • Start by gently rinsing off loose dirt using a hose or a pressure washer from a safe distance (about 7–10 feet).
  • Use two buckets:
    • One with pH-neutral car soap (car-specific soap only—no dish soap like Dawn)
    • One with clean water
  • Use a soft microfiber mitt or towel.
  • Wash panel by panel, working top to bottom in straight lines (not circles).
  • After each panel, rinse your mitt in the clean water bucket before reloading with soap.
  • Once finished, thoroughly rinse the vehicle.

Apply a drying aid (like ONR) and dry with a clean microfiber towel.

Important Tips:

  • Taking your car to a car wash that uses brushes even just one time is putting your coating at serious risk. Avoid bushed car washes unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. 
  • Always avoid washing or drying in circular motions to prevent swirl marks.
    • Do not let anything dry on your car while washing, if needed, briefly wet the car with a hose or pressure washer to keep things wet as you are working (best accomplished in the shade).
  • Regular maintenance washes (every 10-15 days) will keep your coating performing at its best.
  • If you see something on your vehicle like a bug or dirty spot, never rub them with your finger or shirt.
